Hiroshi Tanahashi is a Japanese professional wrestler who works primarily for New Japan Pro Wrestling , where he is a former seventime IWGP Heavyweight Champion, onetime IWGP Intercontinental Champion, twotime IWGP Tag Team Champion and a onetime NEVER Openweight 6Man Tag Team Champion. Tanahashi holds the record for most reigns as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, while his fifth reign holds the record for most successful defenses, with eleven. He has also won NJPWs premier tournament, the G1 Climax, on two occasions .
